Silly Bandz' Popular with Kids, Not with Schools
By WKBW Programming
BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- Walk in to Vidlers Five and Dime in East Aurora and you will find hundreds of toys for kids to enjoy. But it's the brightly colored, fun shaped rubber bands called 'Silly Bandz' that's the craze today.
These 'toys' are nothing more than simple rubber bands that come in different colors, themes and shapes, which make them perfect for collecting and trading.
Some schools, however, say that these simple bands have created quite a distraction for students.
Some schools in New York, Pennsylvania and Texas have banned Silly Bandz in school, while schools locally are monitoring the situation.
